Melodies for the Prayer of Abandonment
Msgr. Des Dillon, our "vieux frere", has composed a plaintive chant melody that is very beautiful (but difficult to sing as a group.)
Little Sister Cathy Wright has two melodies with a slight adaptation of the words of the prayer that are suitable.
Refrain:
With all the love of my heart
I abandon myself to your care
Without reserve, my Father.
I surrender myself to your Will.
1. I wish no more than that your will be done
in me and in all creatures.
2. I wish no more than that your name be praised
in me and in all creatures.
However you love me, Lord, wherever your call
I am ready for all.

Below is the preliminary work of Ron Belisle (a non-musician) for which he seeks additional help.
Prayer of Abandonment of Charles deFoucauld
1
Father, I give myself into your hands;
Do with me whatever You may will.
Thank You for all that you may do to me.
With "yes" to all that comes, to all that goes:
Let only your desire be done to me.
2
Your will be done in all what you have made.
I wish no more, no less than this, O Lord.
In to your hands I trust my lowly soul
I offer it to you with all my love
For yes, I love You, Lord, with all my heart..
3
Father, I give myself into your hands;
And thus so need to give myself to you.
To resign myself into your hands
Without reserve, with boundless confidence;
For you are my Father, you are my all!

At the final Caritas Assembly Mass in Kansas City, Ron Garry sang this song he had written during our days together. It can be sung to any "8.7.8.7.D" meter, such as "Sing of Mary" or the "Nettleton" melody .
To Your Mountain
by Fr. Ron Garry - olbh@olbh.org
Lord, you call me to your mountain
Where your Spirit speaks to me.
Help me listen and be honest
So your love can set me free.
You, in mercy, grant forgiveness,
Then I glimpse eternity.
Lord, You call me to Your mountain,
And in prayer, Your child I'll be.
From Your mountain to this valley
Now Your Spirit draws me.
So to live with these, your people,
In respect and dignity.
Lord, you show us paths of mercy
As we build community.
In this valley, You're our Shepherd,
And we will disciples be.
In this valley are dark shadows
Sin and chaos seem to reign;
And we wonder, "Have you left us?"
As we feel such fear and pain.
Blessed Jesus, come to save us,
And your life in us sustain.
And this cross we meet and carry,
Resurrection power to gain.
Molded into your own image,
Blessed Jesus, let it be,
Praying always as you taught us,
Loved by saints so close to me.
Let us serve you in each other,
Against fear and apathy.
On your mountain, in this valley,
We live in you faithfully.
